This collaboration with Springset Studios was intended to capture the sound of a period ca. 1890 Erard piano. We were challenged by the noisy urban environment and elected to preserve as much of the original sound as possible, even if that meant keeping a little bit of noise from the busy roadway next to the piano store. Nevertheless, the piano’s sound was captured faithfully, and it makes for a touching recording.
